Through our extensive travels throughout the Italian countryside, we have had the good fortune to see the landscapes, experience the culture, taste the cuisine and visit with artisans, producers, and winemakers galore. We are always working on new ways to share those experiences with our guests through our exclusive wine, tasting and dinner events. On April 6th, Dante hosted a cutting-edge tasting event that was the first of it’s kind in the Omaha metro. A virtual pop-up wine tasting with a Live Broadcast from Italy with winemaker, Gaia Bucciarelli of Santa Giustina Winery. For this groundbreaking event, guests attended the tasting in a private dining setting at Dante where Gaia walked them through tasting 11 world-class wines from her winery. Guests learned about the winery, how the wines are produced and blended along with tasting notes and personal anecdotes from Gaia. During the live broadcast event, all attendees were able to interact with Gaia to ask questions ranging from how the wine is mixed, to the design of their logo and even the story behind the unique barcodes on each bottle.

Santa Giustina is a family-owned winery located in the scenic Northern province of Emilia-Romagna, tucked into the hills between Piedmont and Tuscany. Originally home to an ancient religious settlement, the land was lovingly restored to its modern-day incarnation as an organic winery by Gaia’s parents, Antonio and Gloria Bucciarelli. The Santa Giustina “village” is comprised of a few buildings over 1000 years old, an ancient church dating back to the year one thousand, a manor house and other structures that play host to the wine making process as well as serving as a picture-perfect destination for weddings and tourism. You can learn more about the winery at their website,
SantaGiustina.com.
Not only are the lands and the winery unique, Gaia’s blend of traditional and modern techniques and sustainable practices are considered to be cutting-edge in the Italian wine industry. The wines Gaia produces are considered to be among the region’s best and she’s known as one of Italy’s hottest up-and-coming winemakers. We loved being able to bring a little bit of Italy to Omaha through this virtual wine tasting event and look forward to sharing more ground-breaking events with our guests in the future.
