It was a Dante first, and according to Sarah Baker Hansen of the Omaha World-Herald, “it also might be the most Nebraska version of the farm-to-table trend yet.” On Sunday, December 11th, Chef Nick Strawhecker teamed up with expert hunting guide, Aaron Schroder from Pheasant Bonanza to create a unique experience for area hunters and fans of fine food.
In our first ever “Flight to Table” breakfast, guests trekked to Pheasant Bonanza’s private duck blind near Tekamah, Nebraska for a day of hunting, cooking, camaraderie and fine dining. While the group got comfortable in the heated duck blind to prepare for the hunt, Chef Strawhecker prepared a gourmet three-course breakfast.
The experience was definitely one to remember and you can read all about it in the Omaha World-Herald with Sarah Baker Hansen’s first-hand recap: Duck blind goes gourmet: Hunters served three-course meal when chef does on-site cooking for a day.
